Center for Information Technology Accommodations

Under this contract, CESSI provides ongoing technical and administrative support to the General Services Administration (GSA) Center for Information Technology Accommodation (CITA). CITA’s mission is to support the government--wide compliance with the requirements of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.

CESSI’s responsibilities include developing and implementing outreach strategies to federal agencies and personnel, representatives from the information technology industry, members of the public, and academic communities to promote the mission and goals of the CITA and its associated programs. CESSI also develops and maintains accessible Web sites providing CITA program information, supports the design and development of a technology center to showcase accessible solutions, coordinates special events, and develops procedures and guidelines to facilitate Section 508 implementation within federal agencies.

Initial tasking includes:

• Preparing and Implementing an Outreach Plan
• Designing and Maintaining Web Pages
• Supporting the CITA Accessible Technology Center
• Coordinating Events such as: IDEAS 2001
• Preparing Section 508 Guidelines
