Information Resources Management Program for Accessible Computer/Communication Technology (IMPACT) Program

CESSI provides Section 508 program development and management support to the Department of State’s IMPACT Program.

CESSI assists the Department of State with policy and procedures regarding Section 508 compliance. CESSI develops management controls, that provides technical support to ensure that goals and objectives are met. CESSI is also developing a system that documents how State is addressing 508 compliance.

CESSI is developing technical assistance materials and conducting training sessions for software developers, Web developers, and procurement officials.

Additionally, CESSI:

• Created an IMPACT library of accessibility resources,
• Provides content to the IMPACT Website.
• Answers 508 questions from Embassies, posts, and other Department of State offices,
• Staffs the IMPACT Outreach Center,
• Coordinates with the Access Board, GSA, and Justice,
• Disseminates “Best 508 Practices” throughout State, and
• Represents IMPACT at FOSE, IDEAS, and other technology related events.
