Web Site Accessibility and Maintenance

A recognized leader in understanding and implementing accessible electronic technology, CESSI provides website expertise to the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). Working on-site, our Web-master updates and maintains the ODEP Web site, making sure the graphic and text versions are fully accessible and comply with required federal guidelines. CESSI also develops new Web pages as needed and included hyperlinks that promote easy navigation and search capabilities designed to assist visitors in locating information.

While investigating and analyzing services of companies that promise visibility on up to 500 search engines and directories, CESSI staff work to ensure that the Web site can be accessed through at least 15 search engines, particularly the most common. While the combined goal is to develop fast and workable solutions to Internet problems, staff provide the necessary maintenance, troubleshooting and technical assistance.

In addition, understanding and expertise of the disability community and commitment to creating Web sites that are models for accessibility encourages other sites to link to ODEP Web site. CESSI in turn is establishing links from the ODEP Web site to other related accessible sites.
